September is National Preparedness Month, a time for Sedgwick County residents, families, businesses, and community partners to prepare for emergencies and disasters.
This year’s theme, Americans Stand Ready, recognizes that preparedness begins close to home. When residents take steps to prepare and look out for one another, they help strengthen the entire Sedgwick County community.
Preparedness Starts With All of Us
Sedgwick County is served by dedicated first responders, public safety professionals, health care providers, utility crews, volunteer organizations, and community partners. During an emergency, residents who are prepared can better protect their households and help response resources reach people with the greatest immediate needs.
Throughout National Preparedness Month, Sedgwick County will share preparedness information and resources to help our community be ready before an emergency occurs.
